Is Cameroon in a full-scale civil war?

This is a question that is yet to be answered.  There is an ongoing conflict armed conflict that is going on in the English speaking partis of Cameroon. This armed conflict can be considered a civil war since it is between the government security forces and English speaking armed groups (separatist). International observers, analysts and academics all consider this a civil war. This war which has been ongoing since 2016 began with peaceful protests by a group of English speaking (anglophone) lawyers and teachers. This protests stemmed from the perceived marginalization of the anglophone region who are in the minority, as well as the overwhelming dominance of the French language in the English legal and educational system.
